Admission Procedure - Overview

The application procedure, deadline, type of visa that is required and other requirements may differ depending on the course. Preparation for your application should begin well in advance of the deadline because it may take some time to obtain all of the required documents, including the visa.

Start preparation as early as possible

Getting a college student visa (Ryugaku visa) may take 4 to 5 months from the time of application. We will submit required documents for a visa to the Immigration Bureau on behalf of students who are planning to attend our school.
For this reason, we start accepting applications from those wishing to enroll in April, from July of the previous year. Similarly, we start accepting applications from those wishing to enroll at the beginning of September, from January of the same year. In both cases, receipt of applications will stop as soon as the prescribed number of students is reached.
We accept applications from individuals staying in Japan on a short stay or other type of visa who wish to take a course or courses according to their schedule, if that course has not yet reached the prescribed number. Please note that you should plan ahead and submit your application as early as possible because we may not be able to meet your immediate needs.

Enrollment Procedure 1 (for individuals who ask our school to apply for a college student visa)

You receive the necessary documents.   →  You submit all the necessary documents.  →  You receive the result of document screening and invoice.  →  You pay for the enrollment fee and the application fee.  →  The School applies for a Certificate of Eligibility to the Immigration Bureau.  →  (4 to 5 months)  →  The School notifies you of the result of the application for a Certificate of Eligibility.  →  You pay for the tuition fee.  →  You receive your Certificate of Eligibility.  →  You go to the Japanese embassy or consulate in your area to obtain your visa. →  You enter Japan and come to the school on the start date of your course.
  1. Read the pages of this website carefully to select your desired course and the time of enrollment. Go to the Application and Admission page to check the status and availability of your selected course. Then, enter the necessary information on the Materials Request/Inquiry Form and submit the form.
  2. We send you the documents necessary for us to start your visa application process on your behalf. Fill out all the documents, and ask your guarantor (must be living in Japan) to bring them to our school.
  3. After having completed the document screening approving the application, we will send you a notification of admission letter. Note that we may ask you to provide additional documents or information.
  4. Upon completion of all the necessary administrative processes, we will send an invoice to your guarantor living in Japan. The guarantor must then pay the enrollment procedure fee (enrollment fee and testing fee) promptly. Please note that payment by credit cards is not accepted.
  5. We notify you of the result of the visa application which we made to the Immigration Bureau on your behalf.
  6. After your payment of tuition fee, your Certificate of Eligibility will be sent to your guarantor.
    You will need to go to the Japanese embassy or consulate that handles visas for your area to obtain your visa.
  7. Please enter Japan so that you have enough time before the first day of your course term. On that day, you will need to complete the registration process and take some tests including a placement test.

Enrollment Procedure 2 (for individuals who do NOT need to ask us to apply for a visa)

You ask for information materials.  →  You receive the necessary documents.   →  You submit all the necessary documents.  →  You receive the notification of admission.   →  You pay for the enrollment procedure fee (enrollment fee and application fee) and tuition fee.  →  You receive a payment receipt notice.  →  You visit our school on the first day of your course term.

  3. After having received the documents you sent and completed all the necessary administrative processes, we will send you a notification of admission. Note that we may ask you to provide additional documents or information.
  4. After you have received the admission notification, please pay for the enrollment procedure fee (enrollment fee and testing fee) and tuition fee promptly. Upon confirmation of your payment, we will send a payment receipt notice to you. Please note that payment by credit cards is not accepted.
  5. Please visit our school on the first day of your course term. On that day, you will need to complete the registration process and take some tests including a placement test.
